Wood types and best oils to use

There are many different wood types around. Oak is still, both in the UK as in many other European countries the most used species for wooden flooring.

Oak and other European species

Natural HardWaxOil will bring out the most character of any light coloured wood species.

Do note that every species will mature over time:
Oak will have its characteristic Honey colour and Pine can easily turn orange.

If you are not in favour of this natural mature colour you can opt for a colour HardWaxOil. Some colours, like 'Golden Oak' will prevent - in most cases - the ugly orange look of pine.

Tropical species

These darker species are mostly more oily than their European counterparts.

Applying a natural HardWaxOil might give a patchy result because the wax in the product could prevent the oil in the product penetrating the wood.

Saicos Wood Wax Clear Extra Thin (deep sealer) is a better solution, followed by applying a separate wear and tear layer (only 1 coat of Premium HardWaxOil).
